A Masonic Memorial columbarium is located in the Lake of the Woods Cemetery, in Kenora, Ontario. It is administered by the Kenora Masonic Temple Corporation for the benefit of members of Pequonga Lodge No. 414, Keewatin Lodge No. 417, Lake of the Woods Lodge No. 445, and Wenonah Chapter No, 18, Order of the Eastern Star.
The Masonic Memorial is available to all members of our Masonic family in Western District, if they choose. The columbarium was created by Nelson Granite, Vermilion Bay, Ontario. W. Bro. Nevin Nelson is a Past Master of Pequonga Lodge No. 414, Kenora. It commemorates the Masons and members of the Eastern Star who have, and continue to contribute, to the life of our community.

Records show that Bro. Harding Rideout, numbered 40 in the register of Lake of the Woods Lodge No. 445, in 1905, together with his brother, owned the land on which the Lake of the Woods Cemetery is now located. Today our Masonic Memorial stands on that same land, flanked by a rough ashlar and a perfect ashlar, altogether completing a unique Masonic display.
At present, of 87 niches are available and several are occupied by brethren who have passed on to the Grand Lodge Above. Memory Plaques have been mounted to signify local brethren who have passed and were previously interred in other locations. The columbarium is etched with our Masonic symbols, including the Craft, Royal Arch, Knights Templar, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, assorted working tools, a broken column, an alter with a Volume of the Sacred Law, and embedded in the Perfect Ashlar you see a Lewis pin, all artistically enhancing the structure.
The columbarium was dedicated, in a unique ceremony, by M.W, Bro. David J. Cameron on June 18th, 2018, when he was Deputy Grand Master.
It never fails to impress all who see it. To the public it draws considerable expression of its beauty, and opens avenues of positive discussion of our Fraternity.
